On June 16, 2011 property and facility management professionals came together as A.D. Willis Company hosted their fourth annual complimentary continuing education and networking seminar at the elegant Red Berry Mansion on the Lake near downtown San Antonio.

The event began bright and early as attendees learned from experts about topics relating to the care and maintenance of existing buildings. Billy Bolt of A.D. Willis Company talked about Roof Asset Management - Increasing the Sustainable Life of the Roof; Edgar Farrera of Marmon Mok Architecture presented on Sustainability and Green Initiatives for Existing Buildings; and Heather Gayle Holdridge of Lake/Flato Architects outlined for the audience the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED Rating Systems for the Operations and Maintenance of Existing Buildings. Assisting Holdridge was Cindy Casey of USAA Real Estate Company and Armando Salazar of Colonnade Centre. The attendees earned three CFM Maintenance Points of continuing education credit.

“We had an interactive group in attendance this morning - they really had some great questions for the presenters," said Jim Pipes, president of A.D. Willis Company. "We’re glad everyone was able to take time out of their busy day to get together with us and hopefully gain some knowledge that will be beneficial to their work.”

Following the one-hour presentations, the group enjoyed a delicious catered lunch and Pipes drew the names of the door prize winners. Jesse Mancillas of Grubb & Ellis Management Services won the iPod shuffle, Rita Johnson of AllianceBernstein got the Nikon Coolpix digital camera, and Dan Sanchez of Pearson took home the grand door prize, a Dynex 32” flat screen TV.
